Grupo Niche is still the most popular salsa group from Colombia. Lead by songwriter, Jairo Varela, they are still going strong and continue to tour the world to bring their hot and strong Colombian salsa sound to a city near you.
Grupo Niche has gone through some changes. After many years of singing with Grupo Niche, singers Willie Garcia and Javier Vasquez have decided to leave Grupo Niche and start their own group "Son De Cali". Jairo Varela has found some new talented singers and Charlie Cardona has returned.
Grupo Niche released their new CD - Control Absoluto - in December 2002.
